WWE Championship Belts: A Gift From LeBron James To Heat

WWE Championship belts for a basketball team? Whatever next?

It all started back in December of last year when the Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy celebrated his team’s victory by sporting a WWE style belt during his post game interview with NBC.

LeBron James watched that day as the Miami Heat arrived in Denver and decided to put the question out on Twitter as to where he could acquire such WWE Championship belts for his team.

Answers to that question came flooding in. and before long James had Tweets from the likes of Dwayne Johnson and John Cena who set him straight on exactly where he could get the belts he wanted.

James received his WWE Championship belt as a belated birthday gift and the Heat proudly displayed their new belts on Wednesday. The belts themselves are customized with the Miami Heat logo and are further personalized per player.

LeBron James wasted no time in bragging about the new WWE Championship belts he had acquired and chose Instagram as his boasting medium:

“Always wanted to be the WWE Heavyweight World Champion so today I surprised my teammates with their own for their collection. And by the way it’s a Great time to be a @WWE fan with the launch of #WWENetwork #LoveMyTeammates #WWEStandOutAsAKid #StriveForGreatness.”

With that, his teammate Mario Chalmers sent his own Instagram message which read: “Swagg champs we got the belts. Always wanted one of these as a kid. Stone cold Steve Austin was my favorite wrestler. Heat nation #HEATLES STRIKE AGAIN.”
