Ali Fedotowsky And Katherine Heigl Save Puppies During Sochi Olympics

Ali Fedotowsky left the 2014 Sochi Olympics with a couple of unusual souvenirs.

The realty star turned television host teamed up with actress Katherine Heigl to save two stray puppies that Ali had found at the games. The Bachelorette star was serving as a correspondent during the Olympics, and fell in love with two of the adorable pups after she came across them at a local shelter.

Ali Fedotowsky gave fans a chance to follow along in the journey, sharing a series of Instagram photos with the pooches, who she named Adler and Sochi.

“Got this little gal at a Sochi shelter,” Fedotowsky wrote along with a picture of one of them. “On my way to the vet to get her a health certificate and passport so I can hopefully bring her back to the USA to be adopted. I can’t save them all, but I know someone in the states would love to have this little sweetheart!!!”

Ali also let fans know that the adorable puppies were on the way home with her.

“We’ve got our passports and we are coming home to America so this little love bug can be adopted! So grateful I could save just one! #SochiStrays #Adopt.”

When Ali Fedotowsky touched down at Los Angeles International Airport, Katherine Heigl was there to meet her and offered to help find Adler and Sochi a permanent home through her charity, The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.

“We haven’t done this before. We haven’t done a rescue from another country,” Heigl told People magazine. “I’m nervous for the dogs. It’s an awfully long flight. I’m hoping it’s the beginning of the good life to come.”

The dogs have already gotten their first vet checkup. Adler was diagnosed with a cough, but both were free of the deadly canine disease parvovirus and deemed healthy enough to adopt.

It may not take them long to find a home. Ali Fedotowsky said she has received dozens of tweets from fans interested in adopting the dogs.
