Kanye West Gets An Album Tribute From Lily Allen’s ‘Sheezus’

Kanye West is getting a very special, if not completely odd, homage by musician Lily Allen. The singer, who’s known for her work in the UK and for being the daughter of entertainer Keith Allen, decided to pay a tribute to the Chi-town rapper by creating a “spin off” name that relates to West’s current album, Yeezus.

Lily Allen has decided to name her album Sheezus. Allen went on the Graham Norton Show to explain the decision to name her album after West’s. Sheezus is obviously a name that closely resembles Kanye’s current album name.

Allen said to Graham Norton that, “It’s a confident title choice- and a little nod to Kanye West.”

The singer, who didn’t want to give out the wrong impression about her Kanye tribute, took to Twitter to clear up anything that might be misconstrued as a joke or a dig at West. The singer tweeted, “It’s an homage, not a p**s take #SHEEZUS”.

This isn’t the first time Kanye West’s name has been attached to Lily Allen. The two actually collaborated on a track called “Drivin’ Me Wild’ which featured Allen’s vocals for a 2007 album Finding Forever, which West produced for rapper Common.

Although the two were collaborators on Common’s album, Kanye ignited a Twitter fever inside of Allen that was considered to be a one sided public spat. At the time Kanye had tweeted, “An abortion can cost a ballin’ n***a up to 50gs maybe a 100. Gold diggin’ b**ches be getting pregnant on purpose #STRAPUP my n****s!”

Allen responded to the 2011 tweet by writing, “Never has a tweet put me in such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels.”

It seems like Allen has put her grievances with Kanye West’s tweet aside, as it’s clear that she admires the “Yeezus” singer as an artist. Surprisingly her Sheezus album comes off the heels of the singer announcing that she was retiring from the music industry back in 2010. She returned last year and is set to release the West-inspired titled album Sheezus in March following a new single called “Air Balloon.”

Following her tweet that she put out to clear up her Kanye West-related intentions, she tweeted out one last sentiment for the weekend.

Currently there isn’t any information out there that reports Kanye West has ever mentioned Lily Allen publicly.
