Bonnaroo 2014 To Feature Kanye West, Will He Bomb Out Like In 2008?

Bonnaroo 2014 will feature Kanye West as well as Elton John this year.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Kris Jenner claims Kanye is taking over Kim Kardashian’s career and some in the family aren’t too happy with the state of affairs.

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival lasts for four days and features more than 125 bands performing on 13 different stages. Bonnaroo 2014 is literally scheduled to run 24 hours constantly and music fans will have a large cross-section of genres to pick from. In addition, some of these bands will perform together in superjam sessions and comedians will entertain the crowds between the musical acts.

But if history is anything to go by some fans may not be too entertained by the antics of Kanye West. Back in 2008, West showed up two hours late for his scheduled performance and throughout the entire festival people recall hearing chants of “Kanye sucks.” When he finally did arrive he was met with a chorus of boos and the show itself was considered underwhelming. In fact, at one point he was literally lying on his back in the middle of the stage.

West blamed the Bonnaroo organizers at the time, claiming they took too long to set up the lights and that his performance was poor because water spilled on the stage made his normal routine dangerous:

“But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I’ve ever had in my life. This is the most offended I’ve ever been… this is the maddest I ever will be.”

He also claimed the time slot he was given didn’t make any sense because his “glow in the dark” light show was intended to wow the audience but he was scheduled to perform during the day. Of course, he also described the people behind Bonnaroo as having “squid brains” and dropped the f-bomb repeatedly.

With West’s return, festival promoter Rick Farman says Kanye’s performance at Bonnaroo 2014 will live up to the event’s reputation:

“Everyone has moved on—it’s in the past. It goes back to what Bonnaroo stands for: It’s about having good time, radiating positivity and that whole message.”
