Pharrell Williams Could Be The ‘MVP’ Of The NBA All-Star Game

Pharrell Williams is all over the place these days, but this weekend Williams and other artists appeared at the NBA All-Star Game for a very welcoming performance. The NBA All-Star Game was Sunday night at New Orleans Arena, which was part of Sean John’s Entertainment Series presented by Macy’s.

The NBA All-Star Game was filled with celebrities from start to finish. For the opening introductions of the All-Star players, Pharrell Williams along with Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, & Diddy performed an exciting performance that definitely got fans pumped up. Williams and his other famous collaborators performed old hits such as “Hot In Herre”,” Pass the Courvoisier, Part II”, ” Rock Star,” “Frontin”, and “Beautiful”. All these top hits were performed between 2000-2003 by the various artists Williams performed with. Some people of course were a little let down when Pharrell accidentally teased a Jay-Z cameo during the performance for the song ” I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me)”.

Pharrell wasn’t done yet, for the Eastern Conference All-Stars, Williams had came back on stage wearing a white t-shirt to perform another one of his hits. Williams performed his 2013 song of the summer, “Blurred Lines,” and an old time hit from 2002 from his famous N.E.R.D. project, “Rock Star”. The performance of that song lead to the performance of “Beautiful”.

The next song Williams performed of course was the Grammy winner for Record of the Year, Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”, and after that Williams wrapped up that song with his newest solo hit, “Happy” and he was wearing his famous hat, but just in red. Skateboard P and other rappers finished off by performing the joyful soundtrack from “Despicable Me 2”.

Another great performance that happened during the All-Star Weekend was Kendrick Lamar headlining the Sprite Slam Dunk Competition Saturday night. This Inquisitr article explains more about that. A nice surprise during half time was non-televised performance by Vanilla Ice performing his hit single “Ice Ice Baby” with a bunch of dancers.

Pharrell Williams popularity is only going up from here. Williams has been getting tons of Oscar nominations and endorsements for his new single “Happy”. In last week’s Hot 100 chart, “Happy” reached a new peak of No.2, behind Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse”. If you want to see more of Pharrell Williams, he will be performing the “Despicable Me 2” soundtrack single at the 86th Academy Awards on March 2nd.
