Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been apart a lot lately as they work on different film projects, but the couple was reunited this weekend at the EE British Academy of Film Awards — and they celebrated the reunion with matching tuxedos.
The couple arrived to The Royal Opera House in London on Sunday wearing black and white tuxedos. Angelina ditched her traditional black gowns for new red carpet attire, a fitted Saint Laurent tux and black pumps.
She posed for photographs with Pitt, who was at the award show for 12 Years a Slave, which he starred in and produced.
It was a rare public appearance for the couple, who have been very busy lately. Angelina Jolie has been directing her film Unbroken while Brad Pitt has been filming the World War II drama Fury in England.
Angelina has been having a busy award season. In November she was named an honoree at the fifth honorary Academy Awards event presented by the board of Governors of the Academy of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The Oscar-style event was a black-tie dinner, but was private and not televised.
Those honored, along with Angelina, were Piero Tosi and Angela Lansbury.
Angelina Jolie has plenty of work ahead of her as well. She is set to star in Malificient, her first on-screen role since the 2010 box office failure The Tourist.
The movie is billed as “the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty.” Disney just released a new trailer for the film, which has built up some buzz. The film is set to hit theaters on May 30.
She is also reportedly working on a $50 million book deal, though details of the project are scant and it has not been confirmed.
