2011 Sacramento Mountain Lions schedule analysis

Of the five United Football League team schedules for the 2011 season, (the upstart leagues third) I like the schedule for the Sacramento Mountain Lions the best. The only fault I see is it is heavy on road games in the second half of the season, but this is a team that gets better as the season unfolds and that may not be such a deterrent as it is for other UFL teams. All in all, if they can get a fast start I would be looking for this team to make a bi run towards the UFL championship game in 2011.

Before we go any further, the entire Sacramento Mountain Lions schedule can be found here. As we can see, they start at home versus the Omaha Nighthawks and Las Vegas Locos in weeks one and two. Then they head east to take on the Hartford Colonials, and in week four have their first bye. Week Five has the Virginia Destroyers at home, then on the road at Omaha and east to Virginia. Their final home game is against the Colonials, and they wrap up the year one week early at Las Vegas.

In 2010 this team won two games at home, and two on the road. If they can win their four home games (it is always easier to increase win totals at home) and once again split their road games that will give the six victories. History tells us that it takes around five victories in this league to earn a place in the UFL championship game.
