Street Fighter X Tekken Visuals on PSVita, PS3 “Nearly Identical”

Capcom’s latest fighting game crossover, Street Fighter X Tekken, was announced at E3 to be coming to Sony’s PlayStation Vita at some point. Despite being on Sony’s latest handheld, however, it looks like the two will be, at least graphically, a one-to-one match.

Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono said as much to Eurogamer in a recent interview. He admitted that the developer was facing problems getting the frame rate up to par but, other than that, the game’s visuals should be a near-identical match.

“Right now, because we haven’t finished tuning and optimising everything, the frame rate occasionally will stutter. We’re looking to fix that. But the actual visuals themselves, the actual textures and everything, look pretty much identical. It’s virtually a one-to-one match at this point,” Ono told Eurogamer.

At Sony’s E3 2011 press conference, Yoshinori Ono announced a then-Vita exclusive character, Cole McGrath from inFAMOUS. Since then, Capcom’s Seth Killian confirmed with IGN that Cole is headed to the PlayStation 3 version as well.

Street Fighter X Tekken is due out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PC in early 2012.
