Tyrese Gibson’s Ex-Wife Stops Actor Visiting Daughter, Police Called

Tyrese Gibson and his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, have become embroiled in a nasty dispute over their 6-year-old daughter, Shayla, which saw her deny him the chance to see his child.

A representative for the Fast and the Furious actor, told US Weekly, “Norma Gibson, Tyrese’s ex-wife, denied him a court custodial order with their daughter Shayla on Feb. 11, 2014. Tyrese arrived to pick up Shayla and was denied access by her mother. Mr. Gibson called the police to the scene, and Mrs. Gibson called TMZ.”

The source then added that Gibson has been having issues with Norma for quite some time, explaining, “Sadly, this is not the first time this has happened. This has been an ongoing saga.”

The representative continued, “Tyrese filed a 740 [custody] evaluation with the courts in 2013, and the family will face a court-sanctioned evaluation this month. Hopefully this will end this ridiculous feud and Shayla can return to a comfortable environment.”

However, the Daily Mail has since claimed that the it was actually Norma who called the police in order to stop Tyrese from collecting his daughter.

The 35-year-old actor was then reportedly met by police officers once he arrived at the abode in North Hollywood, California. Norma didn’t want her ex-husband to look after their child because Shayla was apparently too sick.

Norma then called the police, according to sources, in order to check that Shayla was entitled to remain with her while she recuperated. After the incident, Tyrese was seen leaving the scene without his daughter.

Police later told TMZ that a report wasn’t taken, and the case is now closed. However, Tyrese is thought to be apoplectic at the ordeal, which he has described as “humiliating.”

Insiders have also added that Tyrese believes that the entire scenario was orchestrated by Norma as revenge, while he also believes that his child wasn’t actually sick.

Tyrese and Norma were only married for 10 months, and the actor is believed to pay Norma $6,230 in child support, plus he also covers her rent, as well as her car lease and all of Shayla’s expenses.

However, in September she went to court in order to ask for more money, but the judge ruled in Tyrese’s favor.

A further dispute between the pair erupted after Tyrese went to Dubai on business to play four gigs over New Year, while he also celebrated his birthday on December 30 in the region too. Norma then filed court documents stating that he was a bad father because he didn’t spend time with Shayla for the two weeks in question.
