Selena Gomez Receives Advice From Joe Jonas, ‘Learn From Others Mistakes’

Selena Gomez received some interesting advice from fellow singer, Joe Jonas recently, and that advice was also meant for Justin Bieber. According to ABC News, the Jonas Brother suggested they learn from past mistakes.

“Something that I heard from someone I looked up to was, ‘Watch the people around you and learn from their mistakes so you don’t make the same,'” Jonas told E! News over the weekend in New York City. He continued on to say:

“I just held on to that and any time I saw a celebrity I really looked up to screw up, I just was like ‘all right, I am not going to do that or try my best ability to avoid that,’ so it’s just a learning tool.”

This advice seems to come at a good time for the “Come and Get it” singer, especially after reports have started remarking on her apparent stint in rehab this past January. In an earlier report by The Inquisitr, Selena Gomez reportedly completed a two-week stay at the Dawn at the Meadows treatment center in Arizona.

This past month or so has been an emotional roller coaster for the 21-year-old singer and actress. News of ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber’s arrests and other negative behaviors seemed to only drag Gomez down emotionally. Some reports even stated that she had gone to rehab to help herself get over the drama that is Bieber.

Other reports blamed to stint in rehab on pure exhaustion. Many fans had been heartbroken when Gomez had announced that she would be canceling her Australian leg of her Stars Dance tour in December of 2013. According to E! News, Gomez said the following in a statement: “It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.”

A source close to the singer then went on to say that Selena Gomez just hit a wall after working nonstop for six years.

“She doesn’t like to say no, but she just reached a point where she needs a minute. She is not having a breakdown,” the source said. “She wants to be the healthiest that she can be and this means taking a little break. But she is fine. She is OK.”

Well, it would seem like Joe Jonas’ advice would make a lot of sense in this moment for the pop singer. Unlike her ex-boyfriend, Bieber, Gomez seems to be trying her best to keep on top of herself and make sure she doesn’t take a negative turn. In a post on her Instagram page Sunday, Gomez thanks everyone for all their support:

“I’ve done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me.”

It would seem the time off and even the short stint in rehab may have done the young singer some good after all. The time off seems to have given Selena Gomez time to think, and, from what the public has seen so far, she’s finally moving forward in a more positive direction.
