Chris Kattan Arrested For DUI After Crashing Into DOT Truck

Chris Kattan has arrested on suspicion of DUI after police say the former Saturday Night Live star crashed into a Department of Transportation truck in Southern California.

The California Highway Patrol said the actor was seen weaving in and out of lanes in his Mercedes just before 2 am on Monday. Police said Kattan then crashed into a DOT vehicle that was doing some maintenance work on a guardrail.

The crews had one lane closed and were using orange cones, flashing arrows, and sign boards to warn motorists of the work, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.

But Chris Kattan seemed oblivious to the work, police said.

“The 911 caller reported that the Mercedes was weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds,” Posada said.

No injuries were reported in the crash, but Chris Kattan was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Kattan appeared on Saturday Night Live from 1996 to 2003, and was also know for movies including Corky Romano, Undercover Brother, and A Night at the Roxbury.

While fellow SNL alums like Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon have found success outside the show, Kattan has been unable to find a breakout role. He appeared for two years in the ABC sitcom The Middle, but has yet to have a big box office success and has taken smaller roles, including playing “Gay Elvis” in the 2012 movie Guns, Girls and Gambling.

A message left with an agent for Chris Kattan regarding the DUI charge was not returned.
