Lauryn Hill Cancels Second Show Due To Stomach Virus

Lauryn Hill has cancelled her second scheduled New Jersey gig due to a bad “stomach bug/virus.”

The show, which was due to take place at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, had already been postponed once, and was meant to happen last December. Lauryn Hill’s rep released the following statement:

She came down with a stomach bug/virus… and received medical attention… Her condition unfortunately did not improve for (the) performance. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Some questions were asked following her performance on David Letterman’s late show on Friday night by already frustrated fans who are eager to see Hill play in her native New Jersey. Lauryn Hill’s team assured fans that that performance was taped before she fell sick:

For clarity, her performance on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ was pre-recorded on Thursday, not on Friday when it aired.

Hill,38, recently negotiated a deal with a judge to be allowed to go on tour instead of being confined at home following a three month prison sentence. She served that time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn. after having being convicted of tax evasion to the tune of $1.8 million.

Lauryn Hill, who has lived with her partner,Rohan Marley, since 1996, and is the mother of six children, looked pretty good at the Beatles tribute she performed on the David Letterman show. Appearing in plaid. and sporting a big blue hat, it seemed that the time Hill spent in the minimum-security jail did her no harm.
