PlayStation Vita Will (Likely) Be Region Free

Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable both launched completely region free, and it looks like Sony will be continuing that trend with PlayStation Vita.

According to IGN’s report, Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Vice President told press at a PlayStation Vita event earlier today that, to the best of his knowledge, PlayStation Vita will be completely region free.

If you do a bunch of importing of foreign titles, that means you’ll be able to play any game from any region without being locked out. PlayStation Vita’s competitor, the Nintendo 3DS, is not region free, as you may recall.

This may not be a big news to your average gamer, but it’s nonetheless yet another bullet point for Sony to add to the PlayStation Vita’s already impressive list of features.
