Zoe McLellan To Star In New NCIS Spinoff, Which Is A Spinoff Of JAG, How Many More Spins?

Zoe McLellan has been selected to play the role of Special Agent Brody in a new NCIS spinoff series on CBS.

The new show is set in New Orleans, and the McLellan character is described as a “mid-western transplant, the show’s fish-out-of-water character. She come to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.”

The Hollywood Reporter is one of a number of sources reporting this news, which comes less than a day after the announcement that Scott Bakula would be returning as the show’s male lead in the character of Special Agent Pride.. The rest of the characters are an ensemble cast, which now includes McLellan.

In the now well established tradition of spinoffs being created from successful shows, 39-year-old McLellan finds herself in the position of playing in a spinoff of a spinoff!

In the popular series JAG, which aired between 2001 – 2005, Zoe McLellan played Navy Petty Officer Jennifer Coates. So now she is playing a different character in the same constellation, since NCIS is itself a spin-off of JAG.

The two-part pilot is scheduled to air as part of NCIS later this season. The executive producers include Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.

Apart from her work in long running series, Zoe McLellan also played in ABC’s 2007 drama Dirty Sexy Money, and has taken guest spots on shows like The Mentalist, and Royal Pains.

In addition to all her TV work, in 2008, Zoe McLellan posed nude for Allure Magazine. Are the producers planning to spice up this spinoff?
