9/11 Truther Sneaks Past Security To Crash Super Bowl Postgame Interview
A 9/11 Truther crashed the postgame press conference of Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith, somehow sneaking past security with no pass or media credentials and rushing the microphone.
Video of the incident went viral shortly after the Super Bowl, showing the man rushing to the microphone to talk about how the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington were “perpetrated by people in our own government.”
The man, Matthew Mills, is a 30-year-old independent journalist from Brooklyn who said he simply hopped onto an employee bus headed MetLife Stadium. Mills was wearing a rectangular press pass from a festival he had covered, one that happened to resemble the Super Bowl press pass enough to get him onto the bus
The 9/11 Truther said he was stopped several times by security, who are required to check every credential, but was able to talk his way past them each time.
“I just said I was running late for work and I had to get in there,” Mills said. “It was that simple.”
Mills said he wasn’t sure how far into the stadium he could get, and when he made it past the final gate he was “dumbfounded.”
When he made it into the postgame press tent, the 9/11 Truther said he decided to make his move.
But this is where the ride came to an end. Mills was only able to get a few words out before he was yanked aside and pulled away from the podium.
Mills is not the only 9/11 Truther using the media to forward the conspiracy theory. A movie called September Mourn pulled in some big Hollywood stars attached to the fringe movement, including Martin Sheen and Woody Harrelson.
“I did not want to believe that my government could possibly be involved in such a thing, I could not live in a country that I thought could do that – that would be the ultimate betrayal,” said Sheen during a 2007 interview. “However, there have been so many revelations that now I have my doubts, and chief among them is Building 7 – how did they rig that building so that it came down on the evening of the day?”
The 9/11 Truther who crashed the Super Bowl was escorted from the press conference and arrested for trespassing.
