Amy Adams received a nod from the Academy for a reason and for those who have not seen American Hustle, a brand new clip — shared by The Wrap — has hit the internet and it’s all the talk.
In it we see a real, raw Adams, with no make-up and messy hair giving it to co-star Christian Bale — who plays her lover in the film.
In American Hustle, the 39-year-old actress plays Sydney Prosser — a seductive con aritist who, with her partner, Irving Rosenfeld, is forced to work with wild FBI agent Richie DiMasso (Bradley Cooper). He pushes them into the New Jersey underworld of mafia and corruption.
The scene in the clip happens just after the FBI has busted Prosser and Rosenfeld’s operations, and she is very upset and unhappy with their current arrangement.
Amy Adams is known for always looking impeccable, without one hair out of place, so to witness this particular scene will leave many very surprised.
The Enchanted actress has been in the headlines for the revealing, low cut outfits she wears in American Hustle, and the ones she has been seen wearing at her movies’ red carpet events.
One of the strongest Oscar contender for this award season, the David O. Russell film earned 10 Academy Award nominations including one for Amy Adams for Best Actress.
If by chance you are unfamiliar with who Amy Adams is and why she has been nominated for such an award, we must tell you that if she could be described in one word, it would probably be versatile.
The wide range of roles that Amy Adams has played is truly astonishing and, in this past year, she has been extremely busy, with three major feature films.
Her stellar year began with the release of Man Of Steel in June 2013, opposite British actor Henry Cavill in the role of Superman, Amy Adams plays his love interest, intrepid reporter Lois Lane.
This was the realization of a dream for Adams, who revealed she had auditioned for every single Lois Lane opening there had been prior to Man Of Steel.
Director Zack Snyder finally made her wish a reality and said in a statement announcing her casting for the role:
“We are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”
She starred in Her, the critically acclaimed drama with Joaquin Phoenix.
Amy Adams won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for American Hustle. Currently she is getting ready to start production in the sequel to Man Of Steel, the untitled Warner Bros. film, Batman vs. Supeman, in which she returns as Lois Lane.
