Taylor Swift Briefly Thought ‘Red’ Won Album Of The Year At The 2014 Grammy Awards

Taylor Swift briefly thought she’d won Album of the Year at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Although the singer received several nominations at this year’s event, Swift ultimately walked away without a trophy to call her own. Judging from her reaction to the Album of the Year announcement, Taylor was a little shocked that her acclaimed album Red didn’t receive the recognition she thought it deserved.

When it was time to announce the winner, Taylor Swift and a few people seated around her at the Grammys were clearly primed to start celebrating. When the honor went to Daft Punk, it’s painfully obvious that the singer was a little shocked. Unfortunately for Swift, the moment was miraculously captured on-camera and transformed into a fairly amusing animated GIF.

Taylor Swift’s jaw immediately drops upon hearing the announcement, though she eventually recovers and begins applauding for Daft Punk. However, it’s obvious this wasn’t how Swift and her crew thought everything would unfold on Sunday evening. As always, her embarrassment has thoroughly amused the internet.

This isn’t the first time one of Swift’s reactions received the animated GIF treatment. The Inquisitr previously reported that Taylor Swift’s supposed reaction to Harry Styles at the MTV Video Music Awards last year famously captured the attention of the masses. Of course, it was later revealed the gaff was in response to something Selena Gomez said.

Regardless, it’s still a pretty amusing GIF.

If you thought Swift should have taken home the Album of the Year honor at the 2014 Grammy Awards, then you’re certainly not the only one. Judging from some comments on Twitter, quite a few fans were quite shocked that Red didn’t get any love on Sunday night.
