Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton Affair Was ‘Predatory And Offensive To Woman’

Monica Lewinsky could present a problem for Hillary Clinton should Hillary decide to run for president.

Republican Senator Rand Paul defended on NBC’s Meet the Press, his wife’s comments which were published in Vogue magazine. His wife said that Lewinsky’s affair with Bill Clinton was “predatory, offensive to women.”

Senator Paul’s wife is also quoted as saying: “Bill Clinton’s relationship with Monica Lewinsky should complicate his return to the White House, even as first spouse.”

Paul himself spoke to David Gregory on Meet the Press, telling him that the public’s view on the Republican party being out of touch with woman’s issues was simply untrue:

“One of the workplace laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn’t prey on young interns in their office. And I think really the media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this,” he said.

When Gregory asked Paul if he felt it was fair to bring up the touchy Bill Clinton/Lewinsky thing he said:

“Someone who takes advantage of a young girl in their office? I mean, really. And then they have the gall to stand up and say, ‘Republicans are having a war on women’? So, yes, I think it’s a factor. Now, it’s not Hillary’s fault.”

He then went on to make his point that taking advantage of a young intern in the workplace is unacceptable behavior:

“You know, if there were someone in my community who did that, they would be socially — we would dissociate from somebody who would take advantage of a young women in the workplace,” he said.

It must be said that the general view of the Republican party is that they don’t see woman’s issues as top of their agenda, but is this the case?
