Sandra Leikanger Gets Yair Netanyahu In Trouble With Conservatives For Dating A Gentile

Sandra Leikanger has Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, in trouble because he’s dating a gentile.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, some Jews believe the knockout game has become antisemitic, but some people believe the knockout game is an old idea that’s being hyped by the media as a new racist trend.

Netanyahu’s son is 23 years old and is currently a student studying at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliyah, Israel. Yair apparently meet the young Norwegian woman named Sandra Leikanger at school, and they’ve been dating for quite a while. The two even went on a trip lasting several months to Norway last summer.

Some reports say they may have met in July of 2013, and they were visiting Tel Aviv’s night club scene together in a group. We also know that Leikanger’s older sister, Ida, currently lives in Israel and converted to Judaism after growing up in an evangelical family.

Other than that, info about Sandra Leikanger is fairly rare on the internet. Some claim it’s possible that ever since their dating relationship went public, the internet, especially social media outlets like Facebook, was scrubbed of any mention of Leikanger, which is what happened to Yair after he posted his unflattering personal opinions about Arabs and Muslims.

But their relationship took a drastic political turn when Benjamin Netanyahu boasted about his son dating Sandra Leikanger. In response, groups like Lehava, which stands for “Preventing Assimilation in the Holy Land,” have condemned them all, telling Benjamin that his father, Ben-Zion, “is turning in his grave.” Several rabbis are reported to have said it was inappropriate to “”boast before gentiles of his son consorting with a non-Jewish woman.”

Even Knesset member Nissim Ze’ev of the conservative Shas party is using Yair Netanyahu’s girlfriend as a political pawn:

“It’s a big problem. As the prime minister of Israel and the Jewish people, [Netanyahu] must display national responsibility via the values he presents inside his own household. I bet it pains him. Any Jew who wants to maintain his roots wants to see his son marry a Jewish girl. There is no shortage of beautiful, successful girls without sowing in the fields of others.”

Naim Araidi, Israeli Ambassador to Norway, thinks this is going too far:

“The public and the authorities are beginning to understand that relations with Israeli do not necessarily have to be defined by the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the two nations can develop normal ties in every field regardless.”

What do you think about Yair Netanyahu dating the non-Jewish Sandra Leikanger?
