Josh Lucas Heading For Divorce With Jessica Ciencin Henriquez

It looks as though it won’t be a fairy tale ending for Josh Lucas and his wife of 22 months Jessica Ciencin Henriquez. It’s being reported that the two are going their separate ways after 22 months of matrimony. Unlike the typical Hollywood story, there’s is a bit unique with plenty of ups and downs. The two met by chance at a dog park in New York. At the time Lucas was very struck by Henriquez and the two quickly began a whirlwind romance.

Lucas’ then girlfriend revealed to the actor that she was in the middle of battling cervical cancer, but that didn’t seem to bother Lucas.

The Sweet Home Alabama actor proposed to his girlfriend shortly after with a very romantic gesture. At the time Lucas opened up to Jay Leno about his proposal that included an encounter with a mountain lion.

“I hear, totally serious, two big breaths and six feet above me I see the very slight glint of the eyes of a huge mountain lion.”

“I started screaming and yelling and literally being as crazy as I could be. It padded off and just slowly went away, and I worked my way into the trailer, and I got in, and I decided in that moment that this woman was the woman for me.”

The two were quietly married in 2012. When the couple announced that they were married, they also announced that they were expecting a child.

In September of 2012 Jessica opened up to The Huffington Post that she was advised to continue treatment and terminate the pregnancy by getting a hysterectomy. Instead she decided to go ahead with her plans, having explained:

“If the cancer has progressed because I did nothing for a year to contain it or treat it, I don’t feel any guilt, and I don’t feel like it was a bad decision. Every morning that I wake up with Josh and Noah, I’m even more assured that it was the right decision for me.”

Of her chance meeting with Josh Lucas she said:

“I don’t believe in love at first sight at all, but lightening definitely struck. There was something there between both of us and we were both kind of blown away.”

Although the marriage didn’t work for Josh Lucas and Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, the two share son Noah Rev Mauer who was born in July of 2012. We currently don’t know the reason for divorce but it’s being reported that the filing happened earlier in January.

This was the first marriage for Josh Lucas.
