Maryland Mall Shooting: Police Confirm Three Killed In Colombia Mall [Breaking]

A Maryland mall shooting today has resulted in the deaths of three people, according to Howard County police. They Tweeted in the last hour: “Three people confirmed dead at Columbia Mall. Victims unknown at this time.”

Police still don’t know how many gunmen were involved in the fatal shooting. Earlier in the day, the Howard County police Tweeted that the mall where the shooting took place was in Colombia, a suburb of Baltimore and Washington.

Both the fire department and the emergency services sent out a Tweet just before 11 am today, confirming that they and the police were responding to “an active shooter” at the mall.

Some pictures also made it to Twitter which show employees from the mall hiding alongside customers in stock rooms. Following the Maryland mall shooting, the shopping center was in lockdown while police searched for the shooter(s).

The Mall in Columbia is the central shopping mall for the community of Columbia, Maryland. It has five anchor department stores and over 200 specialty stores. The mall also contains a 14-screen AMC Theater.
