LisaRaye McCoy Dishes on ‘Single Ladies’

Ahead of tonight’s premiere on VH1 of the show Single Ladies, LisaRaye McCoy has dished on the ins and outs of the the reality show.

For instance, McCoy says, the alleged beef between the star and Stacey Dash was totally over-exaggerated:

“I normally don’t like to address rumors, but I think it was so unfair to both of us the way they took that story and dragged it out,” McCoy said. “There was no physical altercation or some beef that people were trying to fabricate. It was us being together for the last 4 or 5 months filming every day for 15 to 16 hours a day.”

McCoy continues:

“When you have creative differences with someone, some words might flow back and forth but that doesn’t mean we carried it on to the next day…When we read the blogs, it became something else and we laughed at it at first. Stacey and I have known each other since before ‘Single Ladies’ and we worked together before so at the end of the day we have moved on and know that we’ve made a wonderful product.”

McCoy also isn’t shy when she recounts the networks assessment of her and their age-related critique:

“My friend, Stacy A. Littlejohn, wrote the character with me in mind,” McCoy said. “When she sold it and partnered up with VH1 and Queen Latifah’s production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment, they wanted a younger demographic.”

Single Ladies premieres tonight at 9, will you be watching?
