Rick Harrison Letter: Pawn Stars Boss Sends Heartwarming Letter To Autistic Boy

Rick Harrison may be a tough-nose negotiator on Pawn Stars, but when it comes to his fans he’s got a big soft spot.

Evidence of that showed up this week on Reddit, where user MrsLeslie posted a note Harrison had sent in reply to her autistic son. The boy was a huge fans of Pawn Stars, so his mom encouraged him to send them a letter and see if they might send something back.

“LittleJ is a huge fan of ‘Pawn Stars,’ and he talks about the show incessantly,” she wrote. “I encouraged him to write them a letter, which he did, and he offered to sell his Gameboy to them for $30. I added a cover letter describing J and his autism — and although I told them that I didn’t expect them to actually buy his Gameboy, I did ask if they could at least reply.”

They got a lot more than that.

After receiving the letter, Rick Harrison decided to cut the boy a great deal, sending a check for $30 for the Gameboy. But his reply was even more heartwarming.

“I’m donating the Gameboy back to you for being such a loyal viewer, so keep enjoying it and think about us when you play it,” Harrison wrote.

He added another message of encouragement for the boy.

“You have a wonderful Mom who loves you very much,” he wrote. “Always pay attention to what she tells you. You stay healthy and enjoy the New Year.”

Harrison may have let a bit of his fatherly side shine through. He has three sons and three daughters, and just this summer got married to Deanna Burditt.
