Bill Maher Appeals To Americans To ‘Quit’ Watching Duck Dynasty This Year

Bill Maher appealed to Americans in his Friday night Real Time show to quit watching Duck Dynasty as their new years resolution. Maher – who is not best known for beating around the proverbial bush – launched into his personal attack on the show:

And finally, a resolution I have been asking America to make for a long time. Be more cynical. Be less easily fooled. Case in point, all the people that are fans of these guys, heroes to all the rural heartland traditional values gun nuts out there.

He continued in the same vein to lambast the Duck Dynasty show alleging that the stars of it used to be “preppy a**holes”:

Except here is what we recently found out these guys really look like before they got their TV show, preppy a**holes at the golf club wearing Tommy Bahama. That’s right. It is all an act, fat cats pretending to be just folks. And you fell for it.

Bill Maher is clearly not kidding when it comes to his utter dislike of Duck Dynasty and its stars. He even suggested that Americans move to the Middle East if they are that taken with a “bunch of cranks”:

If you are that taken with a bunch of backwards religious cranks with long beards issuing ridiculous pronouncements — move to Iran. They’ve got tons of them there.

In other Bill Maher news, HBO just renewed his contract for a 13th season of the pay cable show. The HBO President of Programming, Michael Lombardo, proudly announced in a statement:
