Nick Lachey Scores New Gig At VH1, May Move To New York

Looks like Nick Lachey has scored a shiny new gig. Lachey who has been a member of the vocal group 98 degrees is looking to extend his stay on television. The host of The Sing-Off reality show is moving in to VH1’s new digs for a new hosting gig on Big Morning Buzz Live. Lachey is replacing the recently departed host Carrie Keagan.

According to Us Weekly, sources have said that the What’s Left of Me singer will take over the position on the VH1 show in the spring. VH1 seems to be very happy with the fit, with one source saying the crooner will be “a great fit.” So far there’s no official word in regards to Nick Lachey’s new gig but this might be a pretty permanent option for Lachey. In addition to this seeming to be a solid gig for the former boy band member, it sounds like he’s very content about the new position, with a source adding, “He’s happy to be on board.

Not only is this a big shift in Nick Lachey’s career but this might be a location change for the Lacheys. Nick, who is married to host Vanessa Lachey both have been open about wanting to raise their son Camden in Cincinnati.

During a chat with Access Hollywood back in April, Lachey elaborated on how he and Vanessa want to raise Camden in his hometown:

“I loved growing up in Cincinnati where I’m from. My brother’s there, his kids are there, my parents are there. I really value the effect that family has on child growing up. I want Camden and other future kids we have to be around their cousins and their grandparents. That’s a very important part of growing up, I want to try to give him the most normal childhood he can have.”

However this gig might take Nick Lachey to New York frequently. It is believed that he will rent a place in New York City so he can do the show with ease.

As for Keagan when she left she made a statement:

“I’ve had the most wonderful time and experience hosting Buzz, and I am very grateful to have worked with the stellar production team behind the show, as well as Tom Calderone and Lee Rolontz at VH1, who were incredible champions and supporters.”

Continuing, Keagan said:

“I’m sad to leave but I am very proud to have helped launch VH1’s first morning show and look forward to its continued success.”

So far there’s no word on the exact date of Nick Lachey’s start on the show, but we’re sure that he will be a good addition.
