Metal Gear Solid V Achievements Leaked Online

The Metal Gear Solid V achievements have been leaked online for gamers everywhere to read. The list was posted by Xbox Achievements showcasing the 15 achievements possible for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes which is scheduled to release on March 18.

Gamespot pointed out something unique about the list in that there are only 15 achievements all together totaling the normal 1,000 Gamerscore points. The largest of the points is the “Hero” achievement which is worth a sizable 250 Gamerscore points. The rest of the achievements focus on completing the main story beats as well as meeting certain objectives during the Side Ops. Only two of the 15 achievements relate to collectible items including “Information” which is awarded for obtaining all cassette tapes and “Insignia” which is awarded for having obtained all XOF unit patches.

As of this writing, the Trophies for the PlayStation release have not been listed but traditionally they are the same with the only difference being that the PlayStation trophy system is based on a Bronze, Silver and Gold award system as opposed to the Gamerscore system that Microsoft uses on the Xbox.

Achievements, and trophies for the PlayStation, have been an ever evolving progress tracker for the gaming medium since their introduction with the XBOX 360 in 2006. Achievements and Trophies are how gamers can show off their gaming prowess to others who might want to take note. Some games have achievements that are cleverly made to encourage the player to experience all the game has to offer. Others are uninspired and only serve to inflate your Gamerscore like the infamous King Kong game.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is an entry into a series which has always been heavy on narrative and normally has an over reaching point to make on society and technology while including some of the most bizarre villains and heroes in video game history. This will also mark the first time a new Metal Gear game has achievements built into the game. The previous entry into the series, not including HD remakes of past games, was Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PlayStation 3 which did not receive trophies until 4 years after its 2008 release.

You can view the entire list at Xbox Achievements which shows the titles and conditions for all 15 achievements. If you are a fan of the Metal Gear series and do not want any story points spoiled then we would not recommend reading the list.
