Evan Ross: Ashley Simpson’s Fiance Ready To Take Hollywood By Storm

Evan Ross so far is best known for his connection to two other famous woman, his mother Diana Ross and fiancee Ashlee Simpson, but that is about to change soon.

The 25-year-old actor is ready to make a name for himself in Hollywood, with a couple of highly acclaimed roles behind him and a full slate of work ahead.

Ross and Simpson had only been dating a few months when they announced this week that they had gotten engaged. The son of Motown legend Diana Ross was spotted with Ashlee on several dates in July, though the couple claimed for weeks that they were just friends.

But the two have slowly opened up about their relationship, with Simpson saying in November that she was “very happy” with Evan. This week she took to Twitter to announce her engagement.

“My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii!!!!!” she wrote in a caption next to a picture of her ring.

Evan Ross has been slowly building his Hollywood resume, starting with his first big movie role in ATL in 2006. In 2010 he signed on to appear in the CW re-boot of 90210, playing the half brother of Liam Court (Matthew Lanter) and love interest to Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes).

Ross also appeared in the film Mooz-lum, a role that earned him the Breakout Acting award at the SXSW festival.

When he’s not planning his wedding with Ashlee Simpson, Evan Ross has plenty of work ahead. He has five projects in various stages of production, including appearing as Messalla in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay parts 1 and 2.

For Ross, the Hunger Games role was the opportunity of a lifetime.

“It’s mind-blowing. When they called I was like, ‘Are you kidding?’ They said, ‘You got Hunger Games. You want to do it?’ I was like, ‘Is that a question?'”

Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson have not yet announced when they plan to marry.
