Kate Middleton Reportedly Shopping For Traveling Nanny For Prince George
Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William are reportedly shopping for a nanny to look after their son, Prince George during their upcoming visit to Australia and New Zealand.
The royal couple hired William’s old nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb, on an interim basis to help them get used to baby and establish a routine.
But her contract was only for about three-months, and now Kate Middleton, like any busy new mom, needs to find permanent help.
Even though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want to be the main caregivers for Prince George, with their busy public schedule, they need someone other than family to watch their son when they’re busy.
The first trip George will take with his parents is the perfect example. Their schedule is jam-packed with activities and the baby will not be allowed to join mom and dad for every event.
Kate Middleton has not posted a wanted ad for the job and will most likely talk to friends and family for recommendations.
Finding a trustworthy nanny that will not talk to the tabloids once her employment has ended is not an easy task and with the trip looming in the horizon, the effort to hire the best possible caregiver for the heir to the throne is on.
“At this point, it’s speculation that the royal couple is shopping for a nanny, however, it’s likely true, given the tour will probably be too intense for someone of Jessie Webb’s age,” royal expert Victoria Arbiter told Yahoo Shine.
“First and foremost is Prince George’s safety and leaving him in capable hands, but the couple will also look for someone who has cared for members of the royal family in the past, who is trustworthy and someone won’t sell her experience to the tabloids,” says Arbiter.
It will be the job of Prince George’s nanny to make sure he behaves properly for his age and does not embarrass the royals.
The infamous incident in which four-year-old Prince William was photographed sticking his tongue on the way to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s wedding comes to mind.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are very modern, involved parents that want to give their son as normal an upbringing as is possible for their station. The upcoming trip will be a test, and even though the Prince will not be seen much, we are likely to hear stories about his behavior.
