Ariana Grande Opens Up About Unhealthy Relationships, Online Drama

Ariana Grande recently opened up about a very unhealthy relationship she had prior to dating The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes. According to the Sam & Cat star, the romance took a serious toll on her self-esteem.

Although she didn’t open up about rumors that she and Sykes have decided to go their separate ways, Grande did take a moment to discuss one extremely unhealthy relationship that affected her entire existence in a very negative way.

Ariana Grande didn’t reveal the name of the individual that caused so much turmoil in her life, though she did drop some info about how the relationship affected her on an emotional level. All of these details and more are found in the latest issue of Teen Vogue.

“I was dating a boy who made me a different person. And my family was like, ‘You’ve lost your light, you are constantly distracted.’ If I waited too long to text him back, it was the end of the world. And it was just a very unhealthy relationship,” Grande explained.

In addition to opening up about that one unhealthy relationship, Ariana also discussed the online drama that tends to follow her around. While the singer tries her best not to let this sort of stuff affect her daily life, Grande admitted that she’s still learning how to deal with the nasty comments that pop up on social media.

“I’m a lot shier than people think. I don’t go online when I’m dealing with s***. This is a very amazing time in my life, but also the most stressful. I’m adjusting and learning,” she said.

Grande added, “For a very long time, it affected me. And I was like, ‘But they don’t know the story! Or, ‘But they don’t know me!’ And my friends were like, ‘That’s the thing, they don’t know you and they never will. You can’t let a 12-year-old in Minnesota ruin your day.'”

It’s clear that Ariana Grande isn’t letting all of this negativity keep her down. The young singer is presently hard at work on a new album. Ariana recently tweeted that she was heading back into the studio this week to begin work once again on the songs.

“I almost forgot how happy making music makes me. Back to work. I like this part,” she wrote. However, it’s unclear when the new album will hit retail shelves.
