Kelly Osbourne Explains Why She Called Off Wedding To Matthew Mosshart

Kelly Osbourne is talking about her and ex-fiance Matthew Moshart’s decision not to get married.

As reported by The Inquisitr Thursday, Kelly Osbourne’s representative confirmed that the pair were calling off the wedding in a statement.

“Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart have decided to end their engagement. The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. Kelly is looking forward to a new year full of fresh beginnings. No further comments will be provided by all parties and we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don’t expect it.”

However, later in the day the 29-year-old Fashion Police star did speak out about the split with E! News, saying:

“It was a mutual decision. We love each other very much. It just wasn’t the right time for us and I think if we weren’t as mature and adult as we are, then we could have gone down a road that wasn’t really nice.”

“We’re still really, really good friends. It’s just that we’re not living in the same house. There’s no dramatic story. I wish there was so I had something to tell people, but no… It just happens in life.”

Osbourne and Mosshart announced their engagement in July of 2013 after meeting at Kate Moss and Jamie Hince’s wedding in 2011.

Kelly Osbourne was previously engaged to model Luke Worrall, but she called off that engagement after he cheated on her with fellow model Elle Schneider.

The break-up follows news that Kelly Osbourne was pregnant. In September, rumors started that the couple was expecting their first child, after the 29-year-old was seen wearing a dress that revealed what appeared to be a baby bump.

Sharon Osbourne also had something to say about the news her daughter will not be taking the plunge with Mosshart during an appearance on The Talk.

“Matthew is a lovely guy. They had two great years together of fun and love, and for me, that’s why engagements are so important. Engagements are a test run, aren’t they? And so it didn’t work for whatever reason, but they are still good friends and will continue to be. It’s just not right for them right now.”

But this doesn’t mean Sharon is just going to let Kelly Osbourne sit around and be single. “Let the auditions begin,” she joked of potential new beaus.
