Atomic Wedgie Murder: Man Kills Stepfather For Insulting His Mother
An ‘atomic wedgie murder’ carried out by a 33-year-old man was fueled by alcohol. In the bizarre story out of Oklahoma, Brad Lee Davis is accused of killing his stepfather, 58-year-old Denver St. Claire, with his own underwear.
Police officers were called to a residence in Oklahoma City on Tuesday where they found St. Claire dead on the property. During a drunken family fight, Davis had apparently pulled his stepfather’s underwear from his pants and over his head and neck, strangling him.
Amy Elliott, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Department, confirmed to reporters that St. Claire died from asphyxiation and blunt force trauma. Travis Palmer from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office said the men were drinking beer when St. Claire began insulting his wife, Davis’ mother.
Police said that the “atomic wedgie murder” was caused by St. Claire’s underwear which left ligature marks around his neck. Splatters of blood were also found in the living room.
One of the attending officers, Sheriff Mike Booth, told a local Oklahoma TV station that investigators believe the wedgie was more than just a little fight. They are suggesting that Davis tampered with the crime scene to make what may have been a premeditated murder appear to be an act of self defensee.
Sheriff Booth said: “I’d never seen this before, but when we first looked at our victim seeing the waistband of his underwear was around his neck.”
It remains to be seen whether or not Davis did in fact plan the ‘atomic wedgie murder‘. No doubt the ensuing court case will bring to light the circumstances which led to the death of Denver St. Claire.
