Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's weekend break in Santa Cruz was more 'glamping' - glamorous camping - than back to basics. The young stars reportedly made use of Chris Brown's luxury RV.
The 19-year-old heartthrob and 21-year-old starlet, who appear to have rekindled their three-year on-off romance, were later spotted at a beach resort in Aptos.
The pop royalty pair set off reunion chatter after they were seen riding Segways around Bieber's Calabasas, Calif., neighborhood on January 2. The rumor mill went into overdrive when the Canadian posted an Instagram of himself and Selena snuggling two days later.
It now looks as if Bieber and Gomez posed for the photo - which shows them wearing outdoors clothes - during their camping trip.
"Justin and his family and some friends camped here at KOA Kampground," a source told Hollywood Life. "They were all really down to earth and just stayed one night on [January 4] in an RV. Some of them stayed in tents. This is a really family friendly place and super low key."
According to reports, the activity-loving superstars had fun on the camping site's trampoline and Bieber's Segway.
A staff member at the camp and a park ranger from Santa Cruz's Pogonip Park told KSBW that Justin, his father Jeremy Bieber, and Selena, rode a Segway around the San Andreas Road site located near Sand Dollar Beach.
"We were so very excited. He came Saturday night and left Sunday afternoon," Michelle Roaring recalled. "He and his friend [were] riding his Segway through the camp ground and toward Manresa [State] Beach. It was the best thing ever."
TMZ reports the Kampgrounds charged $65 for the group to park Brown's Prevost RV. The state of the art vehicle reportedly features a plush master bedroom, kitchen and living room, and costs between $1.5 and $2.5 million.

Despite the RV's luxurious facilities Justin and Selena were reportedly later spotted at Aptos' Seascape Beach Resort, which faces the stunning Monterey Bay.
Santa Cruz Deputy Chief of Police Steve Clark told the Santa Cruz Sentinel that his two teen daughters saw the singers walking near the resort.
The paper wrote: "Gomez was wearing a blonde wig and Bieber had a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses... The Clark sisters said after the two idols realized they were recognized, they ran inside the Seascape Beach Resort, with Gomez's [blonde] wig falling off in the process.""They both had huge sunglasses on, it was obvious they were trying to hide who they were," Melissa Clark, 15, said. She and her older sister, Courtney, 17, said they saw the twosome on Monday at around 10 pm. They claim the couple spent the rest of the night in their hotel room and their balcony.
However it's possible the sisters may have meant Sunday as Bieber was seen checking into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Monday with his father, "Shots of Me" business associate John Shahidi, and rapper-actor Xavier 'Lil Za' Smith for two nights, according to a local news outlet.
Selena wasn't mentioned in the report and it seems the Latina may have jumped off the road trip before Justin arrived in Sin City.
The pop phenom later posted a photo of his hotel suite view of the Las Vegas Strip to his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Speculation over Bieber and Gomez's probable reunion continues amid unconfirmed reports that the starlet - who recently canceled the Australian and Asia legs of her Stars Dance Tour - is suffering from the autoimmune disease Lupus.
