Honey Boo Boo Family Involved In Car Accident

The all famous family from TLC‘s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” was involved in a serious car accident Monday night. In the car during the time of the accident was Mick “Sugar Bear” Thompson, June “Mama June” Shannon, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.

According to the Huffington Post, the family was sitting at a red light, waiting to turn left. Once the light turned green, “Sugar Bear” pulled into the intersection and was soon hit by a truck that was allegedly speeding through a red light.

An ambulance arrived on the scene to transport them to the hospital, but TMZ reported that the family didn’t want to go to the hospital that the ambulance wanted to take them to, so they were transported to a different hospital by their bodyguard. TMZ first reported on the crash and quoted “Pumpkin” saying the following:

“Sugar Bear has a contusion on his back, Mama June has a back and neck sprain, Honey Boo Boo hit her head against a passenger window and has a headache, and Pumpkin herself has severe chest bruises and is having panic attacks.”

While the family did sustain some injuries, “Mama June” said they weren’t going to let that ruin their special plans. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, June said that their top priority today was to celebrate “Pumpkin’s” birthday. “She turned 14 today and no matter how sore we feel we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”

TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is set to start airing their new season starting on Thursday, January 16. According to Entertainment Weekly, while the family is in the process of shooting, nobody in the production crew was involved in the accident, nor where they shooting during the time of the accident.
