NBC Says ‘Apprentice’ Will Carry On Even If Donald Trump Leaves The Show

NBC plans to charge forward with their hit show Apprentice even if Donald Trump decides to leave the show and seek out the U.S. Presidency in 2012.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly NBC President Bob Greenblatt said the show will go on, noting:

“If he decides to run and is unavailable to do the show, we will bring the show back and someone else will be sitting at the head of the board table.”

At this time Greenblatt won’t say who would replace Trump, more than likely because they aren’t currently “entertaining” any ideas for who that person would be.

In the meantime season 5 of The Celebrity Apprentice will launch during NBC’s 2011 fall lineup which means we have at least one more season of The Donald.

For his part Greenblatt isn’t trying to stop Trump for leaving to chase the office of the Presidency, stating:

“I’ve said I don’t want him to be unavailable. … It’s the right and privilege of anyone to run for the highest office of the land. Nothing would make me happier than for someone to reach that.”

Who would you like to see take over for Trump?
