Pennsylvania Woman Busted For Framing Her Husband With Child Porn

A Pennsylvania woman is facing numerous charges after framing her husband with child pornography. Meri Jane Woods, age 42, reported that her husband Matthew sexually abused children and stored illegal pornography on the couple’s shared computer.

Pennsylvania authorities said they were approached by Woods in August. She claimed her estranged husband sexually assaulted several children, She further stated that Matthew downloaded photos of children being sexually abused.

As reported by Fox News, authorities recovered numerous illegal photos of children on the couple’s computer. However, they eventually determined that all the photos were downloaded more than a month after Matthew moved out of the home.

Woods was eventually arrested for attempting to frame her husband with the child porn. She is facing one felony charge for possessing sexually explicit photos of children and 40 counts for make false reports of child sexual abuse.

In 2011, a similar crime was committed by a Minnesota man. Barry Ardolf reportedly hacked into his neighbor’s Wi-Fi, created false e-mail accounts in their name, and used the information to frame them for possessing child pornography.

In addition to the child pornography, Ardolf also used the phony accounts to send a threatening letter to Vice President Joe Biden. Ardolf was eventually arrested and convicted on numerous crimes. Techland reports that he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Accusations associated with child pornography can destroy a person’s family, and career. In the worst cases, people may find themselves convicted and incarcerated for a crime they did not commit. Even when proven false, they often carry the stigma of being accused of a heinous crime.

Thankfully, the Pennsylvania State Police determined that Matthew Woods was simply a victim of his wife’s misguided wrath.
