Kate Upton And Maksim Chmerkovskiy Break Up

Kate Upton and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have broken up after six months of dating.

A friend of 21-year-old Upton and 33-year-old Chmerkovskiy told E! Online that the pair weren’t exactly in a relationship to begin with.

“It was never really that serious,” the source said. It was “more like friends-with-benefits than anything else.”

The insider added:

“Things actually fizzled out between them in September. Maks moved to L.A. for his acting career and Kate relocated to NYC. After that, they actually didn’t see very much of each other. There’s no hard feelings, I’m sure they’ll remain friendly.”

However, in October, Maksim Chmerkovskiy said that his relationship with Kate Upton took him by surprise.

“She’s an amazing person,” the ballroom dance champion said of the model.

“We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn’t see that coming and I think neither did she,” Chmerkovskiy added. “We enjoy each other’s company very much and like I said, she’s a great girl that I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened.”

Chmerkovskiy’s brother, Val, also had nothing but good things to say about Upton.

“I think she’s awesome,” he said. “She’s a great girl, and we’re great friends. She’s an incredible chick and we have a great time.”

Upton and Chmerkovskiy were spotted walking around New York City’s West Village holding hands in September, and a rep confirmed that they were dating. A source said they “did not want to be photographed together and did the best they could to avoid the cameras.”

Kate Upton has recently made the transition from modeling to acting. She is currently filming The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Kinney. In November, it was reported that Upton was in talks for the upcoming Entourage movie and could play the female lead.
