Republican Governor Nikki Haley is showing the world just how tough a South Carolina gal can be.
In a YouTube video published Wednesday by user nikkihaley (guess who), Haley is shown breaking a board in the South Carolina Statehouse.
For her efforts, Nikki Haley was awarded an honorary black belt in Tae Kwon Do with her name on it in English and Korean.
Mind you, Nikki isn’t actually a practitioner of the Korean martial art. That much is made pretty clear by the video and the gif at the bottom of the screen. But, she did declare the last Saturday of September as Tae Kwon Do Day in South Carolina. Apparently, that was enough to earn a fourth-degree black belt from Grandmaster William Huggins of the Huggins Tae Kwon Do Academy (Mark Sanford did it in 2006).
Watch as Grandmaster Huggins bends the board and Nikki Haley deftly gives the iron-strong slab of balsa wood a hearty high-five.
But, let’s not quibble on form. Nikki’s performance is still more credible than some of the moves former Minnesota governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura pulled during his time with the erst-while named World Wrestling Federation.
The Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger? PUH-lease, people. He’s an actor and body building isn’t a martial art, last time we checked (checks again to be sure). He’s got nothing on Nikki Haley, first female governor of South Carolina.
Nikki Haley could no doubt wipe the floor with Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska, too.
Something no-doubt much more difficult for Gov. Nikki Haley than breaking a board was dealing with her husband Mark’s deployment in Afghanistan. Captain Mark Haley recently returned from overseas after a year overseas, during which time Capt. Haley’s South Carolina National Guard unit helped Afghan farmers improve the way they work.
What do you think of Gov. Nikki Haley’s board breaking prowess? How happy is the news that Nikki has the First Gentleman back in South Carolina?
