Tessanne Chin was crowned the winner of Season 5 of The Voice on Tuesday night, and as part of her performance, she got to sing with music icon Celine Dion.
The Jamaican powerhouse gave Sexiest-Man-Alive-2013 coach Adam Levine his second win as mentor for the show’s contestants and helped shut-up country star Blake Shelton, who had a three-peat in as many years.
Chin, who from the beginning left Adam Levine in awe of her incredible vocal power, said she had almost given up on her dream to pursue a music career when she made on The Voice.
“I was literally at the end of a road, you know, and coming to a place in my life where I was like, am I going to keep doing this and feeling like I’m not getting anywhere? Or am I going to give this another shot? And thank God, thank God I was able to give it another shot.”
To top off her magical night, Tesanne Chin got to perform with one of her idols, another powerhouse singer, Celine Dion.
“She is my idol! I remember watching everything she has done since I was a 12-year-old girl,” she told HollywoodLife.com. “She is a woman that I hold regard for. I want to thank her for inspiring me and making me feel that this is possible.”
On Twitter, which has seen a public diary of sorts on Tesanne Chin’s journey in the reality TV musical competition, she wrote about her duet with one of the most recognized names in music:

“It is out of body,” Tessanne Chin said backstage while holding on to her trophy after the end of the NBC show. “I feel like, is this really happening, you know? This can’t be real. Like unbelievable. Unbelievable.”
Tessanne Chin shared her excitement before going on stage for her final performance on Instagram.
But the 28-year-old was not the only one that was ecstatic for her win. Her coach Adam Levine, who fought a hard, but unsuccessful fight the last three years and was toppled by Blake Shelton, was thrilled as shown in this photo posted by the Maroon 5 Twitter account:

“It feels good man. I like to win. This is fun,” Levine said after the show.
Meanwhile, Tessanne’s fellow Jamaicans flocked to the streets to celebrate her incredible accomplishment.
