David Beckham Is An Emotional Guy, Cries While Watching ‘Friends’

Just because David Beckham is a sports icon, doesn’t mean he doesn’t break down in tears when watching certain movies and television shows.

The former soccer star recently sat down for an interview with BBC Radio One’s Nick Grimshaw. During the chat, Beckham revealed that he has a hard time making it through motion pictures and TV programs without shedding a tear or two. Trying to watch episodes of Friends and The Office often turns into an extremely emotional ride.

“I’m kind of an emotional wreck with movies. I can’t get through some movies without shedding a tear, I can’t lie,” David Beckham explained while promoting the documentary Class of ’92.

What sort of movies make the guy experience an overwhelming wave of emotions? Director Michael Bay’s Armageddon is one such motion picture that can make Beckham burst into tears. However, it’s not just the big-screen endeavors that tug at the soccer player’s tender heartstrings.

“I’m the same when I’m watching ‘The Office’ or when I’m watching ‘Friends.’ I just can’t get through it,” David Beckham explained to Nick Grimshaw.

Not surprisingly, Beckham got a little teary-eyed while filming the Manchester United documentary Class of ’92. Since the motion picture allowed the former soccer star to reunite with his former teammates, Beckham admitted that the whole experience was a bit more than he could handle.

“I got emotional, I got really emotional throughout, obviously not in front of the lads because they’d have killed me. You can’t do that. We’re men! But I got emotional filming it,” he said.

Another person who gets a little emotional while watching old episodes of Friends is former cast member Jennifer Aniston. During a recent conversation with Parade, the We’re the Millers star admitted that she still has a soft spot for the popular television series.

“I actually will always stop and watch, not for the whole thing, but usually because I’ve forgotten a lot of the episodes. It’s sort of fun for a second, I’m like, what’s this one? And sometimes it comes back to me. I always know what year it was by what length my hair was or what color,” Aniston explained.

The Huffington Post reported back in October that the actress wouldn’t mind doing a Friends reunion if the circumstances were just right now. Maybe David Beckham should start crossing his fingers and saying his prayers right now.

“I do too. I’d honestly go back to it if we could, I would,” she said.
