Paul Walker’s Funeral: Family And Friends Gather To Say Goodbye


Paul Walker’s funeral was a time for family and close friends to gather and say their last goodbyes to the late actor.

On November 30, Paul Walker and his friend and business partner, Roger Rodas, went for a quick ride on a Porsche, during a charity event for Walker’s foundation, and never returned.

The car crashed, in a single vehicle accident, and burst into flames, killing both Paul Walker and Rodas almost instantly, both died as a result of the impact and thermal heat, according to the medical examiner that conducted the autopsy.

Following the 40-year-old star’s shocking death, his family was left devastated, especially his only daughter, 15-year-old Meadow.

Initial reports said that she had been present at the charity event, but that was later denied by his Facebook page admins.

In a relatively small, private gathering at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeleson Saturday, Paul Walker’s loved ones came together to bid him farewell.

An eyewitness, tells Us Magazine some of those attending got up to pay tribute to the actor, adding:

“It was hard for many people to talk, they were in tears and couldn’t finish what they were saying.”

The service lasted 40-minutes and is described as a somber affair, with a large photo of Paul Walker mounted on an easel and white flowers decorating the gravesite.

Earlier reports indicated that Paul Walker’s remains had been cremated.

“It was a really sad day for so many people, and you could tell they just weren’t ready to say goodbye,” the eyewitness says. “His parents were there, along with his brothers and some other family members. Everyone was hugging each other tight and didn’t want to let go.”

Meanwhile, Tyrese Gibson, Paul Walker’s co-star in the Fast And Furious series, posted a heartfelt message:

Messages of sympathies and expressions of shock have been left by millions of Paul Walker fans on social media sites Facebook and Twitter.

Last week thousands of fans filed past the crash site, where Walker was killed, in fast cars, the staple of the Fast And Furious franchise.

On Saturday, Paul Walker was put to rest. He is survived by his only daughter, Meadow, 15, his parents Paul and Cheryl, three siblings, Cory, Caleb, and Ashley; and girlfriend Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell.
