Jaden Smith Was Paid Millions To Star In ‘Karate Kid’

Jaden Smith’s role in Karate Kid helped the movie generate more than $150 million in domestic and international ticket sales and while he was only 10 years old at the time of his contract, the young actor earned more than $3 million for his part.

According to the young stars contract he received two payments in the amounts of $900,000 and $100,000 for his role and then another $2 million when the film’s gross hit the $150 million mark.

It should be noted that $3 million is the minimum payout the star will receive thanks to additional in-contract perks that were worked into Smith’s payout.

It’s not Will Smith type cash yet, then again he was only 10 at the time of filming and Jaden is only 12-years-old today.
