Stephen King Officially Joins Twitter, Quickly Amasses Thousands Of Followers


Stephen King is officially ready to scare the pants off countless folks on Twitter.

The legendary horror author signed up for his own micro-blogging account. In less than 24 hours, King has amassed an impressive 135,000 followers. Here’s the insanely amusing part: Refresh his page and watch that number grow every few seconds. The guy will have millions of loyal supporters in just a few days.

“My first tweet. No longer a virgin. Be gentle!” the author wrote on Friday.

Although Stephen King has penned novels that are thousands of pages in length, it turns out the guy doesn’t have a lot to say on Twitter at the moment. As of this writing, King has only issued three tweets. Even the renowned author realized he isn’t in a very talkative mood at the moment.

“On Twitter at last, and can’t think of a thing to say. Some writer I turned out to be,” he joked.

Approximately 20 hours after declaring that there’s really nothing on his mind worth sharing with his legion of loyal fans, Stephen King decided to weigh in on the television series The Returned. Judging from his comments, the author likes what he’s seen thus far.

“Watching THE RETURNED. Scary and sexy. Fun to see a foreign TV show that hasn’t been Americanized. That kid Victor’s giving me nightmares,” King opined.

According to the Press Herald, King received a number of helpful tips and hints from his growing number of followers. While one individual suggested he share the last thing he shoved into his mouth, others seemed to think it was a great opportunity for the guy to brush up on his comedy. Here’s hoping he doesn’t take this advice.
