Obama Stuns Bookstore Shoppers With Visit On Small Business Saturday

As President Obama stuns bookstore shoppers, and most likely the business owners on “Small Business Saturday,” you have to wonder what he was doing there.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, maybe the move was made in the hopes of offsetting the decision not to open the Obamacare small business portal until 2014.

Obama got some crazy deals on books at small business Politics & Prose, including Collision Low Crossers: A Year Inside the Turbulent World of NFL Football, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Kite Runner and Ragtime by E. L. Doctorow.

POTUS must have also got some sweet deals on attire as well on Black Friday as he was seen in a stylish leather jacket and jeans (he should have waited for Cyber Monday since the best clothing deals are today). Gone are the “dad jeans” as so many have pointed out!

So what exactly is on the President’s book list? Obama Tweeted:

“It’s a long list. I’ve got books for every age group, from 5 to 52.”

Books on the Presidential book list include The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, The Ballad of the Sad Cafe: Other stories by Carson McCullers, and Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews. Obama also Tweeted out his intention to visit some small businesses earlier in the day:

“When our small businesses do well, our communities do well. Join me and visit a small business near you today to celebrate.”

Small Business Saturday was coined by American Express in 2010 as a sort of Black Friday add on, meant to encourage the patronage of small businesses instead of big name retailers.

So what do you think of Obama showing up in a bookstore for Small Business Saturday?
