Jennifer Lawrence: Miley Cyrus’ Nude Stunts And Disgusting Young Sex Sells More

Jennifer Lawrence apparently isn’t a Miley Cyrus fan, if you go by her recent comments.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Jennifer Lawrence nude photo shoot went well, although the related interview started awkwardly with the actress saying, “Your “tape recorder is pointed at my vagina.'”

So, yeah, Ms. Lawrence has no problem stating what she thinks. And when she was asked about how performers like Miley Cyrus are sexualizing young women in general, she was pretty blunt:

“It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells. Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more. For some people, that’s how they feel best, that’s how they feel sexy.”

(This is where you insert Jennifer Lawrence’s derp face.)

Her mental lawsuit alert buzzer must have being going off because she stopped short of dissing Miley specifically. But the Miley Cyrus nudity backlash has been garnering comments from all sorts of female stars.

For example, Melissa Joan Hart rejected a $1 million Playboy offer and says Miley Cyrus is putting too much out there. Avril Lavigne said nude photos of her are unlikely since she prefers her own fashion and doesn’t want to use sex to further her career. Sinead O’Connor tried warning Miley Cyrus that the music industry was “prostituting” her for money, but the resulting Twitter cat fight led to threats of lawsuits.

Even pop star Katy Perry is saying these nude antics are making selling sex just plain nasty:

“I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I’m talking about all of them. I mean, it’s like everybody’s so naked. It’s like put it away. We know you’ve got it. I got it too…. I’m just saying sometimes it’s nice to play that card but also it’s nice to play other cards. And I know I have that sexy card in my deck but I don’t always have to use that card.”

Pretty much the only famous person defending Miley Cyrus’ nude crusade is Sky Ferreira. Although, she’s probably a little defensive herself because of all the controversy over her nude album cover.

So, for Jennifer Lawrence, nudity isn’t an option and she says that when she stars in movies appealing to younger girls, she makes “conscious decisions” to set a good example:

“Growing up I didn’t have a female hero the way that Katniss is and I think she’s a wonderful role model for young girls. I’m happy that they have a character like that. I don’t think you make a decision to be a role model. I didn’t set out to be one at all. It’s something that just happens when you’re in the spotlight you just have to look at what you want the younger generation to hear. I think Katniss is a very good role model, she’s strong and not afraid to stand up for what’s right.”

So, yeah, no twerking or lighting up a weed pipe on stage like Miley, who happened to be at the same event as Jennifer. Although that doesn’t stop Cyrus from claiming she’s a feminist…
