Call Of Duty: Ghosts Is ‘The Most Played Game’ On PS4 And Xbox One


Call of Duty: Ghosts is the most played game on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 according to Activision, who issued a press release on Tuesday. As well as that, Call of Duty: Ghosts is also the best selling game at leading North American retailers.

Activision said in the press release that Call of Duty: Ghosts is also the most played Xbox One multiplayer game internationally. Microsoft also pitched in, stating that the game was the best selling title at Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart.

The game is also a roaring success across the pond in the UK, where it is also top of the charts. These stats apply to users of the Xbox One and PS4 across the board.

Call of Duty: Ghosts received even more acclaim from a holiday survey carried out on 1,000 PUR loyalty members and another 500 general gift-givers. That survey confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts was overwhelmingly the most desired game among shoppers.

Eric Hirshberg, the CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. said:

“Around the globe, Call of Duty: Ghosts is leading the next generation. It’s the #1 selling title at key retailers and it’s also the most played game on Xbox One and PS4 globally. As we’ve said before, we’ve got the best community of fans in the world, and we’re thrilled they’re coming with us to the next generation.”

Dave Stohl, executive vice president at Activision, said about the success of the game: “Congratulations to our friends at Microsoft for the launch of the Xbox One. Xbox and Call of Duty together have formed a valued and lasting partnership on Xbox 360, and we know this is just the beginning. So we look forward to an exciting new future on Xbox One.”

The internal gameplay statistics for Call of Duty: Ghosts speak for themselves. Over a billion multiplayer matches have already been played across all versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts and players have Prestiged over 2.2 million times.
