Willie Nelson’s Band Injured In Bus Crash

Sad news for fans of Willie Nelson. The musician was forced to postpone his tour for a few weeks after a massive bus crash that took place on Saturday morning. The crash is believed to have happened right outside of Sulphur Springs in Texas.

According to PEOPLE the crash left three of Willie Nelson’s band members injured. Nelson, 80, was not on the bus at the time it crashed. The tour bus crashed into a bridge pillar at 3:30 am on Interstate 30. The crash is believed to have happened because of the slippery conditions of the road due to the storm. This lead to Nelson’s bus spinning out of control.

After the tour bus crashed Willie Nelson’s website released a statement about the remaining tour dates:

“The band’s bus (Willie was in his own bus) crashed along I-30 around 3:30 AM when it hit a bridge pillar — about 80 miles east of Dallas. We believe it is due to icy conditions on the road. No one suffered serious injuries. Paul English injured his ankle, Billy English suffered a bruised hip and crew member Tom Hawkins has a cracked rib. The other family members on the bus are sore but everyone is expected to recover fully.”

“The last four dates in November have been postponed and the tour resumes as scheduled in December.”

There seems to be some confusion over Paul English’s injury. While Willie Nelson’s site says that he injured his ankle, according to the authorities English broke his hip due to the crash. Either way as the site states everyone, including English, is expected to make a full recovery.

Willie Nelson and Family was scheduled for tour dates in Robinsonville, Mississippi, on Saturday, and on Sunday, but those dates will have to be rescheduled.

Well wishes to Willie Nelson and his band members.
