Britney Spears Song ‘Alien’ Leaked Online, William Orbit Says It’s The ‘Wrong Version’

Britney Spears is the latest recording artist to have one of her songs leaked online.

Keeping tunes under wraps until their official release date seems somewhat impossible in this day and age. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are just a few of the singers who watched as songs from their latest albums hit the internet before they were officially ready to roll.

According to the New York Daily News, the Britney Spears song “Alien” recently hit the web ahead of her album’s scheduled release date. However, the version of the tune that’s presently making the rounds isn’t the one fans will hear on the upcoming collection of tunes.

“It’s the wrong version of ‘Alien’ that’s out there. Right song, but had wrong chorus notes, [now fixed] on THE version,” producer William Orbit tweeted Monday.

Regardless, the Britney Spears song is now available for mass consumption. If you’re curious to hear an early version of “Alien,” then have a listen to the MP3 file embedded below before it disappears.

William Orbit told NME that he was impossibly thrilled to work alongside Spears on the track. In fact, the producer revealed that helping out with the tune turned him into a self-proclaimed “superfan.”

“I’ve done one song for the new album, called ‘Alien,’ which is really good. I’ll be in Vegas, seeing the show. I’ve become a huge fan of hers, actually. I always liked her, but when I started to dig into her repertoire — and there’s masses of it — I became a superfan, really. You’ll find me in the audience singing along,” Orbit explained.

Britney Spears will soon take her act to Las Vegas, a city that Orbit feels is becoming a go-to spot for electronic dance music. If that’s the case, then Spears should fit right in.

“It’s kind of become the EDM capital of America now. That’s the stuff that people who go there want to hear. They don’t want to hear Tony Bennett any more,” Orbit explained.

According to E! Online, ticket sales for her residency are through the roof. Although reports suggested that Planet Hollywood was having a very hard time getting people interested in the show, manager Larry Rudolph said this couldn’t be further from the truth.

“his is the best-selling show in the history of Vegas. We have a great thing going here. We have a great show we’re putting together. We have nothing but greenlights ahead of us. We have amazing sales,” Rudolph told the website.
