Kanye West Debuts His Lisa Frank Inspired Video ‘Bound 2’ [Video]

Kanye West attended the Ellen DeGeneres show to continue promotion for his album Yeezus and his current tour. His guest spot on the show acted as a special appearance and this was the first time anyone would set their eyes on his “visionary” music video for the song “Bound 2.”

For those who aren’t aware, Kanye West’s “Bound 2” is a dedication to his “baby mama” Kim Kardashian. In the song, there are many proclamations of love for Kardashian. One line is as follows: “Close your eyes and let the word paint a thousand pictures. One good girl is worth a thousand b–ches.” Now that’s love.

It was rumored that Kardashian would be in the video in some shape or form. Even DeGeneres noted that people weren’t sure if Kardashian would be nude or just make an appearance in the video. As it turns out, the whole video was centered around Kanye West’s love for Kim. We probably should have expected that the video would be over the top, as most of his videos are heavily focused on abstract visuals, but Kanye gave us some Lisa Frank realness by taking his visual scene-scape to the next level of absurdity.

The video opens with horses galloping in slow motion, but what really takes the cake is the ongoing shots of Kanye and Kim riding through different majestic scenes throughout the video. Of course, this means that Kanye is riding a bike while Kim is facing him spread eagle. During these shots, there’s random close ups of Kim’s shimmering face, which seems to have been thrown into a bowl of sparkles. The scenes of the couple are quite racy, with shots of them embracing each other as Kanye tries to guide them through “life.” Or in the case of “Bound 2,” a colorful sunset.

The clothes in Kanye West’s “Bound 2,” or lack thereof, needs addressing too. These days, West is promoting his fashion tastes as well as his own clothing line, while he continues to promote himself as a genius. For “Bound 2,” Kanye models a tie dye shirt. How could Kim Kardashian compete? Well, wearing nothing at all on a motorcycle kind of closes the gap on that fashionista race. We don’t know if Kanye didn’t want to be upstaged by her wardrobe or if he’s just trying to celebrate the way Kim’s skin glistens with otherworldly shimmer.

“Bound 2″‘s music video may not be your thing, but one thing is for certain, it’s definitely a video that captures Kim and Kanye’s outrageous love.
