Kanye West Warns President Obama To Keep His Name Out Of Public Statements

Remember when president Obama called Kanye West a jackass and everyone had a good laugh? Well we can guarantee that Kanye didn’t find the president’s comments amusing, as he’s still thinking about that statement years later.

Continuing with his radio tour in promotion for his actual tour, Kanye stopped by Philadelphia station Hot 107.9 for a chat with morning show hosts Shamara and Laiya. During the 20-minute chat West was asked about the president, and it sounds like Kanye really can’t let any of it go. When asked if he would like to “break bread” with the president, West went off on one of his familiar tangents.

During some of his response Kanye referred to president Obama as a “pop icon”:

“I just think that we’re pop icons, and the president likes to use that type of thing just to be down. People was fine with me being everyone’s punching bag for about five years. ‘This is the person we love to hate, so if you want to distract people from everything that’s going on just say you hate Kanye and there’s going be 30 other people who say they hate Kanye.’ That was kind of my position in culture and he kind of used that too. ‘Oh, he’s a jackass,” because that’s how the world felt.”

Of his current feelings on president Obama, Kanye just had a simple warning for the commander-in-chief, which involved his baby mama Kim Kardashian:

“I think he shouldn’t mention my baby mama’s name, because we both from Chicago. But no, I’m not gonna mention him no more, I’m passed that. That’s out my thoughts. That’s lowering my priority of thinking at this point.”

Of course in this situation Kanye West has a little more leverage given that president Obama has made an example out of West and Kim Kardashian. During his controversial speech on the American Dream, president Obama took Kim and Kanye’s lifestyle up to task:

“There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing or where Kanye West was going on vacation and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”
