Million Dollar Swimsuit Worn By Gabriela Isler As Miss Universe 2013 Isn’t The Most Costly

A million dollar swimsuit by YamamaY is being worn by Maria Gabriela Isler as one of her first duties as Miss Universe 2013. But you might shocked to hear that it’s not even the world’s most expensive swimsuit or bikini.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the former Miss Venezuela managed to unify political enemies, with both sides saying Maria Gabriela Isler makes a great Miss Universe 2013 even as their country falls apart and people have trouble finding food.

The new crown holder got to pose in the “one-of-a-kind” million dollar swimsuit made of emeralds, rubies and diamonds, which was designed by the Italian swimwear and lingerie designer Yamamay. Considering the circumstances of Venezuela, a million dollar swimsuit might seem a little excessive.

Even the new Miss Universe 2013 says she’s just a “simple” girl:

“I feel very happy to share my first day as Miss Universe. I’m a simple girl. I am just come to have fun, to enjoy the moment — and here I am.”

But there’s another good reason to show off. The Miss Universe 2013 beauty pageant did not showcase a bikini swimsuit competition at all because of Muslim protests in Indonesia, where the event was held. This type of controversy caused a Miss Philippines nude photos scandal when Megan Young was accused of indecent behavior as Miss World 2013 when previous photos were leaked showing Megan Young topless for a bikini shoot.

But Maria Gabriela Isler won’t let Muslims take away the opportunity to wear the million dollar swimsuit. She describes the bikini as “very simple but very elegant, so it’s like me.”

But the million dollar swimsuit doesn’t sound too simple. It’s sown together with 900 stones worth $1 million so the beauty pagaent committee even has armed guards stationed nearby. Speaking about this heightened security, Maria Gabriela Isler joked, “I’m still asking: where are those guards, because I’ll run with it.” Good luck in running away while clad in heels during a Russian winter, is all I have to say.

Still, this new million dollar swimsuit doesn’t beat the threshold for the most expensive bikini ever. That high mark was set by a $30 million bikini comprised of 150 carats of flawless diamonds set in platinum lattice work. What’s more, this million dollar swimsuit is even more scandalous and would make any Muslim protester’s head explode.
